8 Day South Africa Holiday with Kruger Safari 2017

Itinerary

Day1: Arrival in Johannesburg

Welcome to beautiful South Africa!

Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will be met by our local transfer company and transferred to your hotel. Overnight and Breakfast at the Park Inn Sandton or similar

Day2: Johannesburg-Sun City

After breakfast you will be met by your English speaking tour guide and depart on a Johannesburg and Pretoria City tour before departing for Sun City. The tour through the bustling City of Gold includes Sandton with chic shopping centers and boutiques, markets with aromatic herbs and spices as well as the history and culture of Johannesburg.  Constitution Hill is the place of the story of the turbulent past of South . Continue onwards to Pretoria. This City tour gives the opportunity to see museums and monuments depicting South Africa’s history. The fascinating Voortrekker Monument.. Equally impressive are the City Hall, the Opera House and the Union Buildings, the official seat of the South African Government and the offices of our President. Overnight and Breakfast at the Sun City Hotel                                                               

Day 3: Sun City-Johannesburg-Greater Kruger

After breakfast you will be met by the local transfer agency and transferred to Johannesburg International Airport for a flight to Hoedspruit .The Kapama Private Game Reserve lies west of Kruger National Park on 13,000 hectares of open savannah, grassland and riverine bush along river. Excellent trained and experienced rangers and trackers guarantee a unique African safari experience in the home of the big 5, lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Every game drive offers the opportunity of a close encounter with the animals. They are carried out during early morning and late afternoon in an open 4×4 vehicle.

The game drives will take between three and four hours, with a coffee stop in the morning and a sun downer stop at sunset. Guided walks can be a highlight of your visit, gaining a true perspective of the fauna and flora around you. A special, optional safari is a ride on the back of an elephant where you experience the rhythm of an elephant’s life from close. An elephant interaction where you can get close to 16 elephants and interact with these gentle giants is offered as a further optional activity at the reserve. Later this afternoon depart on a game drive and on return to your lodge you will enjoy dinner. Dinner, Overnight and breakfast at the Kapama River Lodge or similar   

Day 4: Greater Kruger

At the break of dawn, a gentle tap on the door will awaken you.  You will meet your Ranger to discuss the day’s itinerary and your expectations of the Safari.The Safari drive takes place in an open 4×4 vehicle which enables you to experience close encounters and unforgettable moments with various animals. During the outing, your Ranger informs you about the flora and fauna of the bush and the way of living of the various animals. Enjoy a tasty cup of coffee during a break out in the bush at one of the scenic spots. Upon your return to the Lodge, a substantial breakfast is served and the remainder of the day is at leisure.

At approximately 4 o’clock, afternoon tea and home-baked treats are served at the Lodge. You will then embark on a late afternoon Safari drive in an open 4×4 vehicle with your Ranger. After a traditional Sundowner at a scenic location, the Safari drive continues into the dusk.  With the careful use of a spotlight, the Ranger tries to locate exclusive nocturnal animals. A delicious dinner is served in the lodge’s dining area, or in an animal-safe enclosure under the stars of South Africa’s night sky. Dinner, Overnight and breakfast at the Kapama River Lodge or similar

Day 5: Greater Kruger-Johannesburg-Cape Town

After your last game drive and breakfast you will be met by our local transfer company and transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for a flight to Johannesburg (cost not included in package price) you will then board a flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by our local transfer company and transferred to your hotel. 

This afternoon your English speaking guide will meet you at the hotel and take you on a half day Cape Town City Tour. The centrally located Company’s Gardens the historical buildings, City Hall , Bo-Kaap The Bo-Kaap, Museum tells of the area’s history and Muslim heritage. Table Mountain (weather permitting) A rotating cable car only takes a few minutes to reach the summit of the 1086 metre high mountain, one of the best-known landmarks of South Africa.

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront The old working harbour area has been transformed into one of the City’s top attractions. It offers an array of bars, restaurants, movie theatres, shops, boutiques and an aquarium. Various excursions by boat or helicopter can be booked at the Waterfront.Overnight and Breakfast at Park Inn Foreshore or similar

Day 6: Cape Town

Your English speaking guide will meet you at the hotel and take you on a Full day Cape Point Tour. 

Today’s tour leads through an ever changing landscape of majestic mountains, vast oceans, rugged cliffs and indigenous ‘vynbos’ vegetation. The route follows the Atlantic Seaboard to the fishing harbour of Hout Bay where you can stop to take a boat trip to Duiker Island The panorama route over scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive The Old Lighthouse at Cape Point offers a spectacular viewing platform over False Bay. It takes approx. 30 minutes to walk from the visitor’s car park to the Lighthouse summit, or a few minutes on the funicular railway (not included).

Depart to your next destination the Boulder’s Beach,  The journey continues through Simonstown where the South African Naval Headquarters are located. . Your tour ends in the later afternoon back at your hotel. Overnight and Breakfast at Park Inn Foreshore or similar

Day 7: Cape Town

Your English speaking guide will meet you at the hotel and take you on a Full day Winelands Tour.The Cape Winelands consists of several wine growing regions producing a large variety of wines, using various methods of viticulture. The Wine Route was developed in the early 1970’s and allows visitors entrance into selected Private Estates to taste wines and visit cellars. Overnight and Breakfast at Park Inn Foreshore or similar

Day 8: Cape Town 

After breakfast you will be collected by an English speaking driver and transferred to Cape Town International Airport.
